Book coaching for experts and nerds writing a
powerful nonfiction book that does them—and their ideas—justice
The Partnership is one-on-one, completely personalized book coaching that gives you a collaborative thought partner, a guide through the long labyrinth of writing a book, early expert editorial feedback to get and keep that book headed in the right direction, and the customized structure and accountability that help you make it all the way to a finished work you love.
With me as your coach, curiosity, play, and care are at the heart of the work right alongside rigor, so working on your book enlivens you instead of drains you.
With me as your coach, you’re not paddling in circles anymore. You’re swimming purposefully and seeing progress, day after day, week after week, on the way to that beautiful end goal: the best book you’re capable of writing.
"Is it too early for a rave review as we’re still in the midst of the writing process?
Before I started, I looked at your website and your reviews. It’s always difficult to choose who to trust with your tender ideas. I had a vision for the book I wanted to write and though I spent time writing weekly, I couldn’t oversee the project—what would be needed, where it would end. Also, my [collaborators], though motivated, weren’t challenging my copy or ideas enough, so I felt I needed to get help to realize the vision I had.
4 months in, I can say that there is not a single word of hyperbole in any of the testimonials, on your website or in your emails.
You’re gifted with language, but also gifted in getting the best out of the writers you support.
You deliver exactly what you promise, and I’m really thankful for your ongoing support. It’s a joy to work with you!"

Like you trust yourself to persevere through both nitty-gritty writing issues and practical/logistical obstacles.
You’re equipped with the tools, plan, and self-awareness to make headway, even on the hard days when distraction and overwhelm loom, and even when you have to work in tiny pockets of time.
PS: You don't need a plan that's like someone else's plan. You need something that fits your actual brain, book, and busy life.
Connected to and excited about your work.
There’s nothing like the energy of a collaborative boost and some fresh perspective. I know your ideas are worth sharing!
Seen and supported exactly where you are.
Creative work is a cycle of generation and dormancy; both are essential. Every idea takes time to unfold. Slow work is valuable. And sometimes a trustworthy sounding board is exactly what you need to open a path into the next phase.
Like you can see—and have a plan to reach—the finish line of your book.
Instead of feeling terrified or overwhelmed, you know in your bones you’re going to get there.
This isn't about pushing through. It's about creating and maintaining a sustainable process and writing well along the way, so your book can reflect the full impact of your ideas.
"Hannah has given me a much-needed fuel injection for my writing. Before I signed on with her, I was always thinking about writing, but miserable I couldn't get it out on paper, and frustrated with lack of progress.
Since I started working with her, inspiration strikes more often, and in the best ways. Ideas are flowing better, and I feel like I have structures in place that support my process. I love having her wise counsel on the byzantine world of book publishing. Her services are absolutely 100% worth the investment."

Ready to get your manuscript moving with more ease and to know that you’re working towards the best book you’re capable of?
The investment is currently $1000; as of March 1, 2026 the investment will be $1200, with a payment plan available.
Some clients want longer-term support or just a short boost. That’s absolutely fine. Book a chemistry call with me and we can make sure that you get the exact level of support you need.
Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a creative collaborator with 20 years experience launching visions forward with both rigor and care.
I’ve supported the creation of over 50 works of nonfiction as a coach and award-winning, “expert” editor (so designated by the Editorial Freelancers Association, one of America’s biggest professional editing associations, not just my happy clients).
I’m also the author of How to Enjoy Being Edited: A Practical Guide for Nonfiction Authors; I understand the pitfalls and pleasures of the writing and publishing process from both sides. I’ve been quoted as an editing expert in two other guides on writing nonfiction. So yeah, I’m a word nerd.
But I’m a body nerd, too: I was co-artistic director of a dance company and worked for a decade as a professional dancer, choreographer, and theater performer. The common thread? I’m an experienced and empathetic collaborator who understands the challenges of creative work and has the chops to help you make great work despite those challenges.
Though most of my clients choose to self publish so they can work on their own timeline and with maximum creative control, I’ve also helped authors develop their manuscript for hybrid publishing and have had a hand in books traditionally published by companies like W. W. Norton, Johns Hopkins University Press, and Cambridge University Press.
At this point, you might be thinking that this all sounds very nice, but:
Of course you can write a book by yourself! You’re an intelligent person with great ideas, and there’s tons of information out there to guide you.
But just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
There’s no prize for doing this on hard mode. No prize for grinding yourself to dust along the way.
Besides, writing an excellent book is not just a matter of cobbling some content together. It’s also not just a matter of discipline. It’s a matter of perspective, skill, and confidence. (You can borrow mine as you build the muscles of your own.)
Long-form work requires you to hold space for large, complex ideas; keep your ideal reader’s needs primary; make structural decisions early; stay the course when you’re crashingly tired of it all; and judge the clarity of your own thinking over an extended period of time. That’s all difficult to do when you’re sitting in the work. You’re too close to it.
My editorial and coaching (and choreographic!) experience means I can see and hold the whole book while you are deep in creation mode—helping you keep the writing aligned with your intention and your voice so you can work more efficiently and confidently.
And my superpower skills aren’t even book-specific. You can rely on me to ask powerful, generative questions and listen with my full presence. You can rely on me to catch the sparks of half-hidden and delicious ideas and fan them into something bright and great.
You’ll leave sessions feeling energized and more capable. Your process gets easier. And readers will be able to feel the difference in your writing.
I'd love to be your partner in that energized process. Join me?
How would you like to move forward?
You can go it alone from here.
You can hire a ghostwriter to write it for you (budget at least $30,000 for someone great).
Or, if you want to write it yourself without mashing yourself to a pulp along the way, you can work with a book coach. I can get you to your best possible book more quickly and easefully than if you keep grinding on your own, with the enormous added benefit of having good company along the way.
You deserve to write in a way that’s calibrated to your goals, your brain, and your life.
And your powerful ideas deserve to become a powerful book.
So if you’re ready to get that book done in a way that respects both your intellect and your creative process, click on the button below.
It’ll take you to my calendar, where you can pick a time for us to meet. We’ll check for mutual fit and you can ask me any questions you need to make sure this is the right decision for you.
